Pietro Buccellato was born in Erice (Italy (TP)) on February 14th, 1993.
He got his Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering in July 2018 at Università di Palermo, carrying out a thesis about Partial discharge wireless sensors, supervised by Prof. Pietro Romano.
In October 2023 he got his Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering (Embedded Systems) at Politecnico di Torino, with thesis “Redesign, development and industrialization of a multi-parameter medical device.” supervised by prof. Eros Pasero.
During the master’s degree program, he was involved in different activities:
- Collaborating with Professor Pasero’s research group (DET) at Neuronica Labs. Design and development of medical wearable devices.
- Apprentice at an innovative start-up for two years, GeneralMed, located in Bruino (TO). GeneralMed has been established with a clear mission, to introduce a cutting-edge, high-quality medical products to the market.
- Collaborating with Professor Tordella’s research group (DISAT). Design and development of a light, small and low power Radioprobe system able to acquire different quantities (temperature, magnetic field, position…) at cloud height and transmit them through a LoRa protocol over a long distance.
He’s currently a Ph.D student in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) of Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of Prof. Cristina Rottondi and Prof. Eros Pasero. His research interests center around networked music performance and the design and development of medical wearable devices.
About me:
Positivity, adaptability, teamwork and willingness to develop new skills are the main features of my nature. Challenges are welcome in order to test and overcome my limits. My studies allow me to develop very good problem analysis, scheduling the work in an efficient way and finding optimized solution according to the time constraints, even in group activities. Designing and testing electronic systems from both hardware and software perspectives are my main interests.
