Since the 90s the Neuronica Lab group has been developing various kind of sensors. In the last years, moreover, thanks to the appearance of open source platforms such as Arduino, the development costs of small robots has gone significantly low; consequently the group has put effort in designing and developing modular robots.
The main goals for these projects is to build a cheap but complete test platform which can be used as a demonstrator for the sensors. Since they don’t have an end in themselves, but instead offer a platform, they are designed in such a way that they can easily be expanded.
