The Hexapod derives from the final project of a course.

The aim of the project was to build a small, simple and cheap educational robot. This is why the hardware was kept the simplest possible.

This robot is moved by three RC servos, each of which is linked to two legs. The movement is made by raising and lowering alternatively the left or right legs, while moving them forwards or backwards.

This robot is equipped with two switch-based proximity sensors that allow it to avoid obstacles while wandering randomly.

This robot can also be controlled with an IR remote controller, since it is equipped with an IR decoder.

It can also be controlled through a serial interface, so by simply adding a RF module it can be driven from a PC.
