Torino 2 ASL, soon to merge with Torino 1, protagonist with the Poli of a program agreement signed at the end of July. Objective: to improve existing medical technologies and produce new ones, to improve the care of the sick, both in the hospital and in the local area, that is, at home. From this perspective, the new synergy must be read, regulated in detail, which will ensure a continuous exchange between the parties in various areas: including those of teaching, training, mutual use of equipment. And of course, the sharing of data and experiences. “Unpublished operation – comments the regional councilor for Health Antonio Saitta – which relaunches the strategic relationship with the Polytechnic and which in the future may be extended to other health companies”.

It will be up to the Joint Scientific Committee, made up of teachers from the Poli (Alberto Audenino, Alfredo Benso, Gianluca Ciardelli, Marco Knaflitz, Eros Pasero, Carlo Rafele, Aurelio Somà) and six ASL professionals (Carlo Alberto Cametti, Ferruccio Ferrero, Gaia Manassero , Emilpaolo Manno, Francesco Quaglino, Tommaso Sabbatini, Edoardo Tegani) identify the business plans and give legs to this work.

“In summary – explains Valerio Fabio Alberti, general manager of what is preparing to become a mega-health company -, the Politecnico will provide the know-how and we will experience it in the field by making our staff and our experience available to improve technologies already in use or introducing new ones ». “We realized that many of our knowledge can be applied within the local health authorities – confirms Marco Gilli, rector of the Polytechnic -: for example telemedicine, essential for managing the aging of the population, without excluding sectors such as logistics and healthcare construction. Interactions are possible, at all levels, it will be up to the ASL to tell us what they need “.
